ITINERARY
Collection from the airport applies only to multi-day tours not day tours.
At 8:00 am, we will pick you up at your accommodation in Cape Town and transport you to the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island. We would appreciate it if you could wait in the lobby for your pick-up. The driver will call you a day before your tour to confirm pick up details.
After hotel pick up, you will proceed to Nelson Mandela Gateway, here you will board to Krotoa Ferry for enroute to Robben Island Museum. Upon arrival you will present your ticket along with passport or Identity card, once confirmed you will proceed to the mini-galary- a story telling wall of Robben Island history during and after apartheid, then continue to the Ferry for your museum tour.
Upon arrival at Robben Island Musum, you will board off the ferry and proceed to the bus where a local sight guide will guide you on the island rather than your tour guide or driver. By ferry boat, you can reach Robben Island. It will take 3.5 hours to complete the tour, including ferry rides. The bus that will transport you around the island will pick you up at Murray’s Bay Harbour, where you will disembark. A former political prisoner will provide guided tours. Nelson Mandela’s cell will be a part of this tour.
Returning from Robben Island, you will stop here for luch (own account). There are veriety of restaurants both local and international for lunch, you can chose any restaurant of your choice or ask the driver for some recommendation. Kindly advise upon your booking if you have any specific restaurant you’d like to go to, so your travel planner cn resrve it for you. Here you will enjoy luch overlooking the majestic Table Mountain and amazing sea view with boats and other water activities. When you done, you will proceed to Century City- fpr your other attraction.
Soon after your lunch, you will be taken to the newly “The Long March to Freedom” which used to have its home in Pretoria. This is the Long March to Freedom, part of a bigger development of over 500 life-size bronze icons of South Africa’s struggle for freedom. All the figures together represent a timeline of South Africa’s 350-year journey to democracy. Beginning in 1652 with the establishment of the Dutch East India settlement in Cape Town and ending in 1994 with the country’s first democratic elections. It is the largest outdoor sculptural display of individuals in the world and uses public art to celebrate the country’s heritage while giving visitors the opportunity to learn about South African history in an unusual and entertaining way. All statues featured here must fulfill strict criteria. When you done, opposite Long March to Freedom is Canal Walk-the biggest mall in Africa. Here you can have light snack, shoping or kids activities- beautiful mall with plenty to admire. From there, you head back to your hotel where your accredited driver will drop you off.
